PROJECT OVERVIEW
Deep integration of design philosophy with Jingchu regional culture
The Westin Wuhan Hanyang opened in autumn 2023 in Wangjiawan, becoming the city's second Westin property. It doesn't carry the cold austerity of a typical business hotel. In the lobby, a "Birds Returning to Nest" mobile sculpture hangs mid-air, spinning gently. To the right, a full wall of greenery breathes moisture into the space. Wooden lattice screens soften the light as it falls onto a backdrop painted with ink-brush strokes of the Yellow Crane Tower—the morning and dusk of this river city captured within one hall. Natural wood, rippling water, and stone follow the Westin philosophy of biophilic design. Floor-to-ceiling windows draw the shimmering light of Longyang Lake into the guest rooms. You sink into the Heavenly Bed—one night suspended between the lake and the city, settling deep.
